OFFLINE MAP GOOGLE MAP
( 02972-428491; www.skibumps.com.ar ; Villegas 459; 9am-6pm Mon-Sat) Skiing and
snowboarding at nearby Cerro Chapelco attracts enthusiastic winter crowds. In San
Martín, rental equipment is available from this store and at many other places along San
Martín. Ski gear and snowboards cost between AR$130 to AR$170 per day to rent, plus
you can also rent equipment on the mountain.
Festivals & Events
San Martín celebrates its founding on February 4 with speeches, parades and other festiv-
ities; the parade itself is an entertainingly incongruous mix of military folks, firefighters,
gauchos, polo players and foxhunters.
Sleeping
As a tourist center, San Martín is loaded with accommodations, but they're relatively
costly in all categories, especially in summer high season (January to March) and peak
ski season (mid-July and August), when reservations are a must. Quality, however, is
mostly high. In low season, prices can drop by 40%.
