In-Depth Information
(Av Arístides Villanueva 557; 8pm-late Wed-Sat)
Purple and yellow outside and polka-dot-
ted upstairs, this bar-lounge gets packed after 2am, and by the end of the night, dancing
on the tables is not uncommon. Good retro dance music.
La Reserva
GAY
(Rivadavia 34; admission free-AR$50; from 9pm Tue-Sat)
This small, nominally gay bar
packs in a mixed crowd and has outrageous drag shows at midnight every night, with
hard-core techno later.
Vines of Mendoza
WINE BAR
(Belgrano 1194; 3-10pm)
This friendly, central wine bar (where everybody, down to the
security guards, seems to speak English) offers flights (tastings of five selected wines)
and top-shelf private tastings. It also offers wine-appreciation classes which give you an
idea of how to taste wine - a great idea before hitting the bodegas.
Blah Blah Bar
BAR
(Escalada 2307; from 6pm)
A Tajamar favorite, Mendoza's version of a dive bar is hip
but restrained, with a casual atmosphere and plenty of outdoor seating.
Vines Park Hyatt
WINE BAR
(Chile 1124; 11am-midnight)
In the super-formal surrounds of Mendoza's best-looking
hotel, this is a relaxed and intimate wine bar offering wine by the glass, cheese platters
and tapas.
