In-Depth Information
(AR$20; 11am-6pm Thu-Mon) Far more interesting for the stream-of-consciousness
commentary on the evolution of the hippie movement in Argentina (dating back to the
Greek Philosophers) than the actual artifacts it holds, this small museum on the northern
outskirts of town is worth a visit - if nothing else, it's a pleasant walk out there.
Sleeping & Eating
Restaurants and cafes surround the main plaza. Most accommodations are within a kilo-
meter of here.
Hostel Agrimon HOSTEL $
( 03549-496397; posadaargimon@infovia.com.ar; Sarmiento 341; dm/d AR$110/300; ) A
sweet little hostel right in front of the main plaza. Dorms are spacious, sleeping four, and
come with private bathrooms; doubles are good value, too. A shady garden out back and
an OK kitchen and living area round out the deal.
Camping La Quebrada CAMPGROUND $
( 03549-496137; Av Siete Colores s/n; campsites per person AR$35) Shady campsites on the
riverfront. Facilities include parrillas (barbecues) and reasonable bathrooms.
Madre Tierra HOTEL $$$
( 03549-496394; secretosdemadretierra@hotmail.com; San Martín 650; s/d AR$400/500;
) Probably the most formal setup in town, with stylish, modern rooms (a bit on the
small side) arranged around a good-sized swimming pool. It's about 500m over the
bridge north of the plaza.
Kaparece INTERNATIONAL $
(Libertad 112; mains AR$35-60; 8am-midnight) This cute little place has the most varied
menu in town, with a good range of salads and sandwiches and some good-value set
lunches (AR$65).
Getting There & Away
There are five buses daily from La Cumbre (AR$21, one hour). Buses also pass through
here en route from Cruz del Eje to Córdoba (AR$55, four hours).
