In-Depth Information
( 421-5887; www.havenida.com.ar ; Pedro León Gallo 403; s/d AR$200/380; ) You have
to feel for these people: they set up a welcoming little hotel, beautifully decorated with
indigenous art and right opposite the bus terminal. Then the city moved the bus terminal
to the other side of town. Nevertheless, it's well worth the short walk from the center.
Spotless, renovated, friendly and always improving: a great little place.

( 421-1390; Parque Aguirre; per person/tent AR$3/5) This cheap municipal campground is
normally a pleasant, shady area, less than 1km from Plaza Libertad, but on Friday night a
big party scene takes over for the weekend.

( 421-1234; www.savoysantiago.com.ar ; Tucumán 39; s/d AR$330/440; ) With a
sumptuous entrance and gorgeous curving staircase, this place looks like a palace at first
glance. Sadly, there are no four-poster beds or servants fanning you with ostrich feathers,
but the remodeled rooms are comfortable, with decent showers, and the service is attent-
ive. It's excellently located and has a rather nice little heated outdoor pool, once you find
it.

( 424-0303; www.carlosvhotel.com ; Independencia 110; s/d standard AR$480/720, d superior

location and spacious rooms with business-level facilities, large comfortable beds and
carpet. Some rooms have a balcony while superiors are larger with table and chairs.
There's a gym and sauna as well as the indoor pool.
Eating & Drinking
