This place is a standout. The vegetarian food -
there's a daily set menu - is excellent and the sandwiches and pizzas can be washed
down with fresh juice or organic beer. There's lovely garden patio seating and the bakery
out the front does wholesome breads.

One of Jujuy's best ad-
dresses for no-frills traditional slow-food cooking, this fills up with a contented buzz on
weekend evenings. There are several classic northeastern dishes to choose from, but it's
the
picante
- marinated chicken or tongue or both with onion, tomato, rice and Andean
potatoes - that's the pride of the house.

The best
parrilla
option is this central, upscale place offering all your barbecued favorites in a re-
laxed atmosphere. But there's plenty more on the menu, with a range of tasty sauces to
go with the chicken, pork or beef, and various appetizing starters. Prices are fair, and
you'll get the meat the way you want it cooked.
Drinking & Nightlife
Jujuy's folkloric
peñas
have live music at weekends. Fun
El Coya Bolívar

gendary
La Yapa
( 402-0637; Mejías 426, Barrio Malvinas; 8pm-late Fri & Sat)
is further
away. The big
boliches
(nightclubs) are out on RN9 south of town.
