In-Depth Information
drink; dinner is extra (AR$90). Book in advance as numbers are limited. Extra buses
from Puerto Iguazú cater for moonwalkers.
Sleeping & Eating
There's one hotel within Parque Nacional Iguazú. Numerous snack bars offer predictably
overpriced fare. Their food is awful; bring a (coati-proof) picnic, eat at one of the two
buffet restaurants or lunch at the Sheraton.
Sheraton Iguazú HOTEL $$$
$$$
( 491800; www.sheraton.com/iguazu ; r standard with forest/falls view US$430/503;
) With a privileged position within Parque Nacional Iguazú itself and looking right
upriver to the Garganta del Diablo, this backs it up with professional service and spa-
cious rooms with balconies: superiors are similar to standards but newer. The jungle-side
view is pretty too. There's a good outdoor pool area, as well as a heated pool and spa in-
doors. Rooms are substantially cheaper online.
The restaurant has a limited selection (mains AR$105 to AR$180). In-room wi-fi costs
extra.
La Selva BUFFET $$$
$$$
( www.iguazuargentina.com ; all you can eat AR$150; 11am-3:30pm) During your visit, this
restaurant, close to the Parque Nacional Iguazú's main entrance, will get talked up so
much you'll fear the worst, but it's actually OK, with a buffet of hot and cold dishes, and
all-you-can-eat parrillada . It's well overpriced but information kiosks give out vouchers
offering a substantial discount so head there first.
Fortín BUFFET $$$
$$$
( www.fortincataratas.com ; all-you-can-eat AR$135; 10am-4pm) Well located near the Paseos
Inferior and Superior falls walkways, this offers a mediocre and overpriced buffet spread
with parrilla choices. Bargain hard for a better deal. A beer on the deck is a decent al-
ternative.
Getting There & Away
Parque Nacional Iguazú is 20km southeast of Puerto Iguazú. From Puerto Iguazú's bus
terminal, buses leave every 20 minutes for the park (AR$35, 40 minutes) between
7:20am and 7.20pm, with return trips between 7:50am and 7:50pm. The buses make flag
stops at points along the highway. A taxi from town to the park entrance is AR$100.
