Right
opposite the massive customs building near the river, this colorful hostel makes up in
location and laid-back atmosphere what it lacks in facilities. Set around patios, it offers a
helpful welcome, good social scene and activities. The six-bed dorms are comfortable
enough; bathrooms are just adequate.

Go for one of the
upstairs front rooms in this converted historic house to enjoy the romance of original
floorboards, high ceilings, windows and balconies. The modern rooms are similarly at-
tractively decorated and significantly more quiet. The personal small-hotel atmosphere is
a real drawcard. Rates are 20% cheaper midweek.

Even among the many elegant early-20th-century buildings
of Rosario, this art nouveau gem is a stand-out. It's a flawless contemporary conversion;
rooms feature modern conveniences that blend well with the centenarian features. An in-
door pool, elegant cafe-bar and roof garden are among the attractions. It's popular for
events, so don't expect a peaceful stay.

Despite a
tired facade, the renovated rooms here feel new and look good; most are very spacious,
all have balconies, and beds are comfortable. It's the best of the clutch of hotels on Plaza
Montenegro; there's a gym, sauna, sundeck and heated indoor pool on the 11th floor, as
well as helpful service. It's decent value, especially if you grab a discount by shopping
around online.
