There are several dining options around Plaza San Martín. Many of the
balnearios
have
eateries where you can grab a bite beachside. In low season many restaurants are only
open on weekends.
For a drink, check out the bars on Calle 87 between Calles 4 and 6.
El Loco

with locals, this classic neighborhood

with blazing fire, brick walls and simple
wooden tables serves steaks cooked to order, accompanied by delicious side dishes such
as roasted red peppers or fried potatoes with garlic and parsley. El Loco is halfway
between Plaza San Martín and the Río Quequén. Reservations are a must on weekend
nights.

square, this high-ceilinged cafe with sidewalk seating and free wi-fi makes a great place
for a snack any time of day, serving everything from

One block in from the beach, this is yet another branch of the beau-
tiful bar-restaurant chain. There's a decent selection of pub-style food, along with several
craft-style beers (actually brewed in Mar del Plata).

fine seafood, Spanish-style. Deals include the
