Fish is prepared in at least a dozen different sauces, or go for appetizers such as the
shrimp omelet and octopus salad. Homemade pastas also available.

Three blocks inland from the beach, just off Av Bunge, this classy restaurant, bar and
tearoom was once the home of a well-known 1950s soprano. Nowadays it serves up Ger-
man, French and alpine specialties such as fondue, crepes, goulash, wurst and sauerkraut.
Afternoon teas featuring stollen, strudel and other homemade pastries are also tempting.
There's a second location in Cariló.

Getting There & Away
Pinamar's bus terminal ( 403500; Jason 2250) is about eight blocks north of the town
center, just off Av Bunge. Destinations include Buenos Aires (AR$225, five to six
hours), Mar del Plata (AR$69, 2½ hours) and San Clemente del Tuyú (AR$46, 2½
hours). There are frequent buses to nearby Villa Gesell (AR$20, 30 to 45 minutes).
For the southern beaches of Ostende (AR$4), Valeria (AR$5) and Cariló (AR$6),
catch a Montemar local bus just outside the long-distance terminal or at stops along Av
Bunge.
By the time you read this, trains may or may not be running from Buenos Aires Con-
stitución train station to Pinamar's Estación Divisadero, about 2km north of town.

Villa Gesell

Smaller and less flashy than its neighbors Pinamar and Mar del Plata, laid-back Villa
Gesell is still a hit with the younger crowd. Uniquely for the coastal towns, it offers a
wood-planked beach boardwalk, making walks along the sands much easier. It's also
