Getting There & Away

Aerolíneas ( 427588; Pico 267) flies to Buenos Aires. The airport is 3km from down-
town. A taxi between the airport and the center costs approximately AR$30.
The bus terminal (Luro 365) is seven blocks east of the plaza. A convenient alternative
for travelers to Bahía Blanca is the door-to-door afternoon minibus service (AR$190)
offered by Vivian Tours (

421200; www.viviantours.com.ar ; cnr Luro & Rosas) , three blocks

south of the terminal.

town and airport locations and good online rates.

Home to a mix of introduced and native species, as well as over 150 species of bird, this
76-sq-km reserve ( 499000; www.parqueluro.gov.ar ; admission AR$4; 9am-7pm) is a
peaceful place to spend time away from the city. Avoid Sundays if you don't like crowds,
however, and bring water and sun protection in the baking summer.
At the turn of the 20th century a wealthy local, Doctor Pedro Luro, created Argentina's
first hunting preserve here, importing exotic game species such as red deer and European
