If taking a taxi, avoid MTL's overpriced taxi service. Instead, go past the transport

BICYCLE
Vehicular traffic in BA is dangerous and hardly respectful toward bicycles but things are
improving, with an expanding bike-lane system and a bike-share program (mainly for
residents). Some areas call out for two-wheeled exploration, such as Palermo's parks and
the Reserva Ecológica Costanera Sur. On weekends and some weekdays you can rent
bikes at these places.

BUS
To understand BA's huge, complex bus system buy a

and click on 'city buses.' Most routes run 24 hours.
Local buses

), but won't take bills. Bus ticket machines on board give small
change from coins. Offer your seat to the elderly, pregnant and women with young chil-
dren.
CAR
Most local drivers are reckless, aggressive and even willfully dangerous. They ignore
speed limits, signs, lines and signals, and will tailgate. Buses are a nightmare to reckon
with, potholes are everywhere, and congestion and parking are a pain.
Public transportation is great and taxis are cheap and plentiful but if you still insist on
renting a car, you'll need to be at least 21 years of age and have a valid driver's license,
credit card and passport; an international driver's license isn't necessary.
