Sat) Dating from 1864, this historic bar has a classic, somewhat rustic atmosphere accen-
ted with original wood and tile, and an eye-catching antique bar. The specialties here are
sandwiches (especially turkey) and picadas (shared appetizer plates), but there are also
lots of pastas, salads, desserts and tall mugs of icy beer.

Catalan restaurant. Big on seafood, its specialties run from garlic shrimp to fresh mussels
and clams in tomato sauce to fish of the day with aioli (a garlic and olive oil sauce). Oth-
er typical dishes include jam ó n serrano (prosciutto-like ham), seafood paella and suck-
ling pig. Don't miss the luscious crema catalana for dessert.

You'll also find a great patio in back for warm days, plus breakfast offerings.

in Milan, Paris and Barcelona, celebrity TV-chef Leandro Cristóbal now runs the kitchen
at this renowned San Telmo bistro. Start with fabulous tapas, then delve into the grilled
Spanish octopus, molleja (sweetbreads) canneloni and the amazing pork bondiola (deli-
ciously tender after nine hours' roasting). Most of the seafood is flown in daily from
Patagonia. Reserve for lunch and dinner.
