Finished in 1923, Palacio Barolo was BA's highest skyscraper until the construction of
Edificio Kavanagh, in Retiro. At the top is a lighthouse with an amazing 360-degree
view of the city.

Six blocks southwest of Plaza San
Martín, you can't help but notice the lavishly ornamented Cervantes theater. It's showing
its age, with worn carpeting and rough edges, but improvement projects are planned.
Until then, enjoy the elegance - however faded - with a tour (call for current schedules).
