Unless otherwise noted, places listed below are open year-round. Many locals also rent
rooms and houses. The hardest time to find accommodation is during the first two weeks
of January. Off-season, prices drop dramatically (40% to 70%).

Cabo Polonio Hostel HOSTEL $

time resident Alfredo's rustic hostel (a two-minute walk from the bus stop) is lit by
candlelight and solar power. There are hammocks overlooking the beach and a wood-
stove for cooking and staying cozy on stormy nights. Even in summer, its dorms and one
double hold a maximum of 14, making it a tranquil alternative to some of Polonio's more
jam-packed hostels.

Posada Rosada de
los Corvinos HOSTEL, POSADA $

UR$1600-1800) A short walk north of the bus stop, this sweet pink house with color-
ful murals houses one six-bed dorm, three double rooms and Cabo Polonio's town lib-
rary. Solar panels provide the electricity, a woodstove provides the heat, and guests share
access to a kitchen, living room and small yard with hammocks.

Pancho Hostal del Cabo HOSTEL $
( 095-412633; www.hostaldelcabo.com ; dm UR$600) Providing bare-bones dorms on two
levels, Pancho's popular hostel is impossible to miss; look for the yellow corrugated
roof, labeled with giant red letters, as you enter town. Nicest is the 2nd-floor dorm under
the A-frame roof, with a small terrace looking straight out at the ocean.

Mariemar HOTEL $$$ $$$

Tucked below the lighthouse, with beach access right outside the back door and a res-
taurant on-site (mains UR$210 to UR$420), this hotel-restaurant is one of Polonio's old-
est year-round businesses. The simple rooms all have ocean views, with downstairs units
costing slightly less than those upstairs. In the off-season, singles go for as little as
US$40.
