out for their simplicity and quality. Rather than piling on an absurd number of ingredi-
ents, Tinkal focuses on basics: tender meat, fresh lettuce and a good roll to hold
everything together.

front and Montevideo Shopping mall, La Fonda draws a buzzing crowd every evening
with its varied menu of grilled meat and fish, seafood, clay oven specialties and

Drinking & Nightlife
Montevideo offers an intriguing mix of venerable old cafes and trendy nightspots. Bars
are concentrated on Bartolomé Mitre in Ciudad Vieja, south of Plaza Independencia in
the Centro and along Av Luis Alberto de Herrera in Pocitos.
