In-Depth Information
I had just completed about twenty laps back and forth on the half-moon beach and was on
my way back to have an ice cold shower. I don't know where Gavin was at this stage, but
as I rounded the Palmyra Yacht Club building, I literally bumped into a very cute, young,
blonde girl of about twenty or so. We both stopped in mid stride. “Hi! Hello! You must
have just arrived?” I said, blinking with surprise and pleasure at this long haired girl.
“Hi, yeah we just arrived! You have to be one of the twins, right? We met Steve and Linda
as we came in, and they mentioned twins on a boat.”
“Yes, I'm Jonathan, and you will meet my brother Gavin before too long.” I grinned at her.
“I'm Penny. I'm with my mom and dad and brother Craig,” she smiled back.
Penny had long, straight, sun bleached white hair which hung loosely about her bare and
freckled shoulders. She had large, clear, blue eyes and an infectious smile, and the freckles
on her nose gave her a very cute young girl appearance. Hers wasn't the most beautiful
face, and she tended to be a little on the heavy side. She had strong shoulders and legs. She
was very attractive though, and I felt my heart beating slightly faster than normal.
“Do you know where the beach and that big water tank is? I am dying for a cold shower!”
“I'll show you. I'm on my way there right now as a matter of fact. I see you have already
met the dogs; they seem to have found a new friend,” I said, a little jealous of their fickle-
ness.
“Oh, the doggies are so sweet! Army and Palmyra, isn't it? Is Navy around still? I heard
there were three.”
I led the way through the leafy glade, “No, I believe he may have died; they are quite
old you know, looking at their grey muzzles. Where are you guys from?” I asked, as we
crunched along the path.
“Canada, well Vancouver Island actually, how about you guys?”
“South Africa.”
“You mean like from Africa?” she asked, stopping in her tracks.
“Yes, like from Africa,” I laughed.
“Wow, I don't know my geography all that well, but that's like on the other side of the
world, another continent. You actually sailed from another continent?”
“We certainly did, as you guys are probably sailing to another one yourselves. I bet you are
going to Australia?”
