people.” I smiled at her expression again, which she caught, and she leaned down and
tweaked my chin and flipped my baseball cap.
I stood up and kissed her on the mouth. “Bye Liz, I hope you and Al will be very happy.”
“Thanks Jon, take care my friend; look after yourself and Murphy.”
I rowed back and saw Gavin had returned with a different dinghy in tow; I assumed it was
Felicity's. It was depressing to see him packing up all his possessions. There was anoth-
er moment of regret when he grinned innocently at his future adventures on his own. I
wondered if I was doing the right thing. Was I being selfish as usual, or was this a good
thing? I did not have the answer then, but now as I look back, it was.
