My father once shot a python that managed to get in through the fencing but got stuck trying to
escape because of the chicken inside it, which it was also unable to vomit up. Snakes, when
threatened or cornered, will usually disgorge their last meal. It was 13 feet long and hangs in
my uncle's old house with a 5 inch hole in the skin. We never lost any cattle to lions or
leopards but our neighbors and friends did. Leopards, despite their size, are very strong, with
an eye witness account of a leopard killing a bull eland. In the Kruger Park we watched and
videoed a female leopard attacking a warthog sow protecting her piglets even though the
warthog sow was about a third in size larger.
