To construct the “expected range” table, we take the row total of the passes (12) and
divide by 2 (number of tasks), getting 6, and for the fails, getting 4. This gives us Table 4.3 .
If you haven't constructed these tables directly in Excel, you need to insert them
to inish the calculation. See Figure 4.1 .
The titles “table of observed frequencies” and “table of expected frequencies” do
not need to be entered into Excel. Nor do any of the other words need to be there.
We've included the titles just to help explain the process.
OK, let's get to the fun part! In any cell you wish (cell E16 was arbitrarily chosen in
this example), type in the CHITEST command. The CHITEST command will prompt
