time boosts. There are 18 of these, and they can do everything from teleporting to the
closest player and dealing 10 damage, making all arrows one-shot-kill players for a 30
second period, steal hit points from players in a radius around the player, give extra regen-
eration and much more. All Blitz Stars also give Regeneration II for 30 seconds, which is
useful all on its own.
Combine all of this together, and you get a very complex game that moves much quicker
than regular Survival Games, which can sometimes go on for a very long time. Typically
many players are killed before they even get their kits in the first 60 seconds of each match,
but that being said, the last few players in a game of Blitz can often still take a decent
amount of time to pick each other off.
While Survival Games is still going strong as one of the top mini-games for Minecraft, we
think Blitz gives it a little kick-in-the-pants both in terms of pacing and complexity (with
the addition of the Blitz Star and better kits) that makes us favor it over the original. Of
course, that's not too surprising considering that this mini-game is one of the always-great
Hypixel server creations.
