processes that attenuate direct beam solar radiation are represented for a standard atmospheric thickness as
would be encountered under cloudless sky conditions with minimal atmospheric aerosols. Ozone absorption is
the product of the ozone absorption coefficient [4] and a standard atmospheric ozone thickness of 0.300 atm
cm as is typical of temperate latitudes during summer. Scattering by air molecules and aerosols, as well as
