Laraya built this

periment with the Intel 8008 microprocessor and to program

early design of Kutt's computer would start with a study of the
document and the testing of the
SIM
8-01 board. Laraya's ex-
perimentation with the
SIM
8-01 concentrated on interfacing it
with various devices and, later, on using the
MP
7-02 program-
mer for the purpose of moving Ramer's
APL
interpreter into the
EPROM
chips.
Following their handshake agreement in fall 1971, Kutt and
Ramer spared no effort in putting together the nucleus of
KSI
's
engineering and support team. The December 1971 meeting or-
ganized by Kutt and Ramer brought together the first group of
future employees, including Don Genner, José Laraya, and John
Wallace. In early 1972, that group expanded to include André
Arpin, Reg Rea, and Morgan Smyth.
