cing a volcano and allowing magma to rise. Formations created from convergent boundaries include the Andes
Mountains in South America, the Cascade Mountains in the northwestern United States, and the Marianas
Trench in the Pacific Ocean. Earthquakes also can occur as a result of movement at plate boundaries.
