In-Depth Information
pump is submerged. As a result the pump should provide some built-in protections
to ensure safety and guard against damage to the equipment.
12.5.2.2 Features
- No suction limitations
- Easy to install without pump house
- Easy to handle as compared to vertical turbine pumps
- No possibility of theft
12.5.2.3 Applications
Agriculture, industry, water supply schemes, pressure boosting, mining, sprinklers,
lift irrigation, fountains, etc.
12.5.2.4 Requirements for Submersible Pump
Submersible Pump Wire
Submersible water well pumps need wire capable of use in under-water situations.
The maximum distance from the power source to the submersible pump motor
includes the UF burial cable from the power source to the well head, and the distance
down into the well with the submersible pump wire.
12.5.2.5 Wide Ranges of Submersible Pumps
A range of submersible pumps are available in the market - four inch (4 ), three inch
(3 ) submersible pump. The 3 submersible pump can deliver twice as much water
as a jet pump with less horsepower. The pressure is always better with a submersible
pump. This 3 submersible pump comes with 1/3, 1/2, 3/4, 1, and 1.5 hp. Pumping
ranges from 5 to 30 gal/min.
12.5.2.6 Open Well Submersible Pump
Features and Benefits
Pump set works under the water and hence suction and priming problems do not
arise
Easy installation requiring no foundation and pump house arrangements
Noiseless operation
Maintenance-free operation due to water-lubricated bearings
Single shaft for motor and pump, permanent correct alignment
High operating efficiency resulting in lower power consumption
