6.8 Addressing the Climate Change in Watershed Management
The impacts of climate change on the management of watershed should be focused.
There are considerable challenges in watershed management, including in-stream
flow needing gaps, changes in agricultural water demand, changes in precipitation,
changes in river flows, reduced water availability, etc.
6.8.1 Groundwater Focus
The principle that groundwater and surface water quality must be preserved is part
of the “Water for Life” strategy. The long-term objective is to understand the state
of the quality and quantity of groundwater supply.
