IMPLICATION AND CONCLUSION
This study finding clearly revealed that displace-
ment undertaken by the government has given sig-
nificant benefits to the Orang Asli. Displacement
has positively improved their socio-culture, econ-
omy, knowledge and understanding through edu-
cation. In addition, displacement promotes healthy
and giving more organized lifestyle and proper
religious practices of this indigenous group. Not
harsh to say that displacement bringing the Orang
Asli into the mainstream or not left them behind
the development. These positive indications have
given significant implication not only to the Orang
Asli itself but also to the responsible authorities.
In view of government authorities, the Jabatan
Hal Ehwal Orang Asli (JHEOA) who are respon-
sible for the development of the Orang Asli in
Malaysia should continuously improving the econ-
omy, education and lifestyle of this indigenous
group. This can be done by continuously upgrad-
ing basic infrastructure such as water, electricity,
school and creating more job opportunities for this
group. This agency should play an important role
by ensuring all children of Orang Asli are not let
behind on education therefore the future genera-
tion will not left behind and getting equal opportu-
nities with other ethnics group in Malaysia.
In addition to above changes, slight changes are
occurring particularly on their traditional food prac-
tices. Despite practicing of their traditional food new
knowledge gained through displacement has impli-
cates and improved their usage of modern uten-
sils, ingredients and methods of cooking. In other
words, the displacement through economy, lifestyle
and education not only increased the Orang Asli
food knowledge, but at the same time teach them the
healthy food practices. This is not to say that their
traditional food practices is not healthy, but improv-
ing their style of cooking using modern technique
enhancing their food potpourri. With this it clearly
indicates that the Orang Asli is not totally rejected
other food, but willing to accept it and therefore the
authority, other government and non-government
bodies should continually educate this indigenous
group with proper and acceptable food knowledge
without neglecting their traditional food practices.

demonstrated that elements of displacement have
given impact on the food practices among the
Orang Asli. In actual facts this holds through from
the researcher observation a slight change occur in
Orang Asli socio culture and food practices owing
to the advancement of lifestyle, education and
economy. In sum, the hypothesis is supported.
