higher turnover intention among non-managerial
staff could be linked to the high percentage of
secondary school students or SPM leavers. A lot
of them might find working in the restaurant as a
temporary job before continuing or pursuing their
studies, thus increasing the tendency of non-mana-
gerial staff to have greater turnover intention.

5 CONCLUSION
The result of this study showed that with the incre-
ment of employee's POS, the staff of casual din-
ing restaurants in Klang Valley would have lesser
intention to leave their restaurants. Therefore, it
is important for the upper management to show
more support and rewards their employees' hard
works in order to make sure that the employees
would stick around. This is essential because if an
employee believes that the management does not
appreciate them, the chance is that they will look
for other jobs as alternatives and may result in more
turnover rate for the organization. On the other
hand, in comparison between managerial and non-
managerial staff, the latter were indicated to have
higher leaving intention compared to the former.
As non-managerial staff are the main workforce
for a restaurant, retaining them is considered cru-
cial, especially the skilled and experienced staff.
