In-Depth Information
Homestay management and promotion: Most
of the homestay owners of Kelantan have lack
of managerial efficiencies for operating the busi-
ness. They can enhance their managerial capac-
ity through the training programs arranged by
Ministry of Tourism. Moreover, promotional
activities such as advertisement, website develop-
ment, face book group initiatives, attending in car-
nival and participate in exhibition can expand the
business opportunities of homestay.

The Malaysian government has taken several ini-
tiatives for economic enhancement of this state
by tourism development. Homestay accommoda-
tion can be one of the major activities for tourism
development in this state. The local communities
of this state will be benefited economically, socially
and culturally through the development of this
accommodation. Joint efforts between State office
of Tourism Ministry, tour operators, homestay
operators and investors are necessary for the
development of this accommodation in this state.
Proper marketing and promotional activities, vari-
ous services for customer satisfaction, effective
policies of government and research initiatives are
necessary for sustainable homestay development
in Kelantan. Finally, proper planning, regulations,
financial allocation and managerial efficiency will
be ensuring homestay development in this state as
well as well beings for local communities.
