In-Depth Information
A quarter of a mile east of Volcano, this has the whiff of a tourist trap, but one look at the
array of helictite crystals - rare, sparkling white snowflakes - makes the crowd more suf-
ferable. The tour guides are all experienced cavers. Reservations required for the adventur-
ous Labyrinth tour ($79).

The preferred of two historic hotels in Volcano, there are four lovingly updated rooms with
crooked floors: two have street-facing balconies. Flat-screen TVs and modern touches are
a bit incongruous with the old building, but it's a comfortable place to stay. The on-site
Union Pub has a superb menu and will host the occasional fiddler.

Up the crooked stairs of this charming, creaky hotel are 20 rooms that vary in size and

the saloon .
