Sleeping
Lake Isabella has motels, but Kernville is a nicer location with still reasonable rates. Many
require two-day minimum stays on weekends.
USFS Campgrounds CAMPGROUND

These campgrounds line the 10-mile stretch between Lake Isabella and Kernville, and sev-
eral more lie north of Kernville on Mountain Hwy 99. Rangers recommend the Fairview
and Limestone sites for their seclusion. Campgrounds without running water and electri-
city are free.

This secluded B&B, blending rustic character with luxurious comfort, is just north of
town. Rooms with kitchens book up quickly in the summer.
