Getting There & Away
Amtrak Station TRAIN

This station between downtown and Old Sac is the major hub for connecting trains to all
points east and west, as well as regional bus lines serving the Central Valley. One way to
San Francisco is very convenient ($32, two hours).
Greyhound BUS

The station is 2 miles north of Downtown off I-5 or N 7th St. Services run to Colfax in
Gold Country ($30, 1½ hours), San Francisco ($24, two hours), Bakersfield ($51, 6½
hours), Los Angeles ($86, nine hours) and other major towns.
Sacramento International Airport AIRPORT

Twelve miles north of downtown off I-5; SMF is served by major US airlines and has
flights to Mexico.
Getting Around
The regional Yolobus ( 530-666-2877; www.yolobus.com ) route 42B costs $2 and runs
hourly between the airport and Downtown and also goes to West Sacramento, Woodland
and Davis. Local Sacramento Regional Transit (RT; www.sacrt.com ; fare/day pass $2.50/6)
buses run around town and RT also runs a trolley between Old Sacramento and Down-
town, as well as Sacramento's light-rail system, which is best for commuting from outly-
ing communities. Sacramento is also a fantastic city to cruise around by bike, rent them
from City Bicycle Works .
