Located 10 miles west of Chester, this old-world charmer has seven B&B rooms with
views to the mountains and forest. All have knotty-pine paneling and quilted bedspreads.
There are stables where those traveling with a horse can board them and have access to the
nearby network of Lassen's trails. The tavern is good too - serving meaty American-style
fare.

Set back from the street, this historic summer home of pioneers John and Annie Bidwell is
packed with antiques. The classic accommodations come with all the modern amenities

Knotbumper Restaurant AMERICAN

The Knotbumper is unlikely to dish up your most memorable meal, but it has a generous
deli menu, including tamale pies, shrimp salad sandwiches and other eclectic selections.
On summer days, eat on the lively front porch and watch the trucks rumble by. This place
virtually closes down in winter.
