BOONTLING
Boonville is famous for its unique language, 'Boontling,' which evolved about the turn of
the 20th century when Boonville was very remote. Locals developed the language to
shark(stump) outsiders and amuse themselves. You may hear codgie kimmies(old men)
asking for a horn of zeese(a cup of coffee) or some bahl gorms(good food). If you are
really lucky, you'll spot the tow truck called Boont Region De-arkin' Moshe (literally
'Anderson Valley Un-wrecking Machine'). Find a fun dictionary at
www.andersonvalleymuseum.org .
