Small and modern with a boutique feel, this historic downtown lodging offers guest rooms
with character and efficient sophistication. The dramatic high-ceilinged lobby is a wasted
opportunity, outfitted with random chairs instead of velvet divans. Still, the carved lobby
bar is perfect for a predinner cocktail, and you're spoiled for choice with several fine res-
taurants within a few blocks' radius.
