A market in an old barn selling picnic items, including gourmet cheeses and organic pro-
duce. Reserve a spot in advance for the small-scale artisanal cheesemaker's demonstration
and tasting ($5); watch the curd-making and cutting, then sample a half dozen of the fresh
and aged cheeses. All of the milk is local and organic, with vegetarian rennet in the soft
cheeses.

This place specializes in rustic Italian cuisine made from locally sourced produce, includ-
ing pizza and pasta dishes and Niman Ranch meats. For dessert, the water-buffalo-milk
gelato is the way to go.

The Pine Cone serves big breakfasts and lunches inside a cute retro dining room and at
shaded al fresco picnic tables. Try the buttermilk biscuits, the chorizo or tofu scramble, or

A rustic 1906 saloon with live bands and cool tables emblazoned with horseshoes. Prince
Charles stopped in here for an impromptu pint during a local visit in 2006.
