centers on a replica of a historic Butterfield Stage Station . It's 36 miles south of Borrego
Springs via County Rte S2.

Maidenhair Falls Trail HIKING

This plucky trail starts from the Hellhole Canyon Trailhead, 2 miles west of the visitors
center on County Rte S22, and climbs for 3 miles past several palm oases to a seasonal
waterfall that supports bird life and a variety of plants.
Ghost Mountain Trail HIKING

A steep 2-mile round-trip trail climbs to the remains of the 1930s adobe homestead built
by desert recluse Marshall South and his family. Pick it up in Blair Valley, at the Little
Pass primitive campground.
