In an isolated, pin-drop-quiet spot, these two desert-chic suites, each with a private out-
door shower, hot tub, sundeck, 2ft-thick walls and sleeping terrace under the stars, are the
ultimate romantic retreat. There are astounding views across the desert hills and into the
National Park. Owners Scott and Steve are gracious hosts and killer breakfast cooks.
It's four miles south of Twentynine Palms Hwy (via Park Bl), one mile west of the park
entrance.

History oozes from every nook and cranny in these old-timey adobe- and wood-built cab-
ins dotted around a palm oasis.
Camping
first-come, first-served and have pit toilets, picnic tables and fire grates. None have
showers, but there are some at Coyote Corner in Joshua Tree, which charges $4. During
the springtime wildflower bloom, campsites fill by noon, if not earlier.
Backcountry camping (no campfires) is allowed 1 mile from any trailhead or road and
100ft from water sources; free self-registration is required at the park's 13 staging areas.
