In this roadside shack all growed up, order at the counter, sidle into a butcher block or pic-
nic table, sip craft beer, wine or Mexican Coke from a Mason jar and use paper towels to
wipe your face. Simple grilling techniques allow the natural flavors of the fresh catch to
show through, and healthy rice bran oil is used for deep frying.

Once Encinitas' most notorious dive bar, it's now Encinitas' hippest dive bar. Fantastic
Old West saloon-style murals make a great backdrop for good old-fashioned sipping and
flirting. Expect a line out the door on weekends.

Carlsbad
Legoland is by far North County's biggest attraction, but a few miles away sits a quaint
downtown enclave and long, sandy beaches great for walking and searching for seashells.
Carlsbad has a number of other worthwhile attractions outside the village and Legoland
areas - from flowers to musical instruments and go-karts. You pretty much need a car to
reach them.
