Mission Hills
Mission Hills is the neighborhood north of Little Italy and west of Hillcrest. On India St,
where it meets Washington St, there's a block of well-regarded eateries.
Saffron THAI

This multi-award-winning hole-in-the-wall is actually two shops - Saffron Thai Grilled
Chicken and Noodles & Saté, but you can get both at either shop and enjoy it in the noodle
shop. Chicken is cooked over a charcoal-grill and comes with a choice of sauces, salad,
jasmine rice and a menu of finger foods.

Counter-service shop famous since 1940 for its taquitos , mordiditas (tiny taquitos ), ta-
males and excellent breakfast burritos. Eat in a rudimentary dining room or at picnic tables
under metal umbrellas across the street.

One of San Diego's most authentic English ale houses, Shakespeare is the place for darts,
soccer by satellite, beer on tap and pub grub, including fish and chips, and bangers and
mash. On weekends, load up with a British breakfast: bacon, mushrooms, black and white
pudding and more. One thing they don't have in Britain: a great sundeck.
