DON'T MISS
KNOTT'S SCARY FARM
Every year, Knott's Berry Farm puts on SoCal's scariest Halloween party. On select days
from late September through October 31, the park closes and reopens at night as Knott's
Scary Farm. Horror-minded thrills include a dozen creepy mazes, monster-themed shows
and a thousand employees trying to scare the bejeezus out of you in 'scare zones'. Boo!
Sleeping & Eating
Knott's Berry Farm Resort Hotel ( GOOGLE MAP ; 714-995-1111, 866-752-2444;
www.knottshotel.com ; 7675 Crescent Ave, Buena Park; r $79-169; ) is a high-rise with
bland rooms, outdoor pool, fitness center and tennis and basketball courts. For young
Charlie Brown fans, ask about Camp Snoopy rooms, where kids are treated to Peanuts -
themed decor (dog house headboards? Awesome!), telephone bedtime stories and a good-
night 'tuck-in' visit from Snoopy himself. Overnight parking costs $7.
The park has plenty of carnival-quality fast food, but the classic meal is the button-bust-
ing fried chicken and mashed potato dinner at the nuthin'-fancy Mrs Knott's Chicken
Dinner Restaurant ( 714-220-5055; 8039 Beach Blvd, Buena Park; mains $7-17, chicken dinner
$17; 8am-8:30pm Mon-Thu, 7am-9pm Fri, 7am-9:30pm Sat, 7am-8:30pm Sun) . It and other eat-
eries are in the California Marketplace, a shopping center outside the park's main gate.
Getting There & Away
Knott's Berry Farm is about 6 miles northwest of Disneyland, off the I-5 Fwy or Hwy 91
(Artesia Fwy). All-day parking costs $12. There's free three-hour parking for California
Marketplace visitors only.
