LAST-MINUTE CAMPING
If you can't get a campsite reservation, plan to show up at the campground between
10am and noon, when last night's campers may be leaving. Don't be too choosy or you
may end up with no site at all, especially on summer weekends and holidays and when
spring wildflowers bloom in the deserts. Park rangers, visitor centers and campground
hosts can often tell you where spaces may still be available, if there are any. Otherwise,
ask about overflow camping and dispersed camping nearby.
