Getting There & Around
Off Broad St, over 3 miles southeast of downtown,
San Luis Obispo County Regional Air-
port
has scheduled flights with United (San Francisco and LA) and US Airways (Phoenix).
Seattle-LA
Coast Starlight
and twice-daily SLO-San Diego
Pacific Surfliner
trains. Both
routes head south to Santa Barbara ($27, 2¾ hours) and Los Angeles ($41, 5½ hours). The
Coast Starlight
connects north via Paso Robles to Salinas ($27, 3 hours) and Oakland
($39, six hours). Several daily Thruway buses link to more regional trains.
Inconveniently stopping off Hwy 101, nearly 4 miles southwest of downtown,
Grey-
south to Los Angeles ($30, five hours) via Santa Barbara ($28, 2¼ hours) and north to San
Francisco ($53, seven hours) via Santa Cruz ($42, four hours).
