Flush toilets, 74 reservable and uncrowded shady campsites, a handful with lake views; on
the lake's northern shore about 10 miles northeast of Grant Grove.

Set amid towering sugar pines, around 50 cabins range from decrepit tent-top shacks (open
from early June until early September) to rustic but comfortable heated duplexes (a few
are wheelchair-accessible) with electricity, private bathrooms and double beds. For love-
birds, number 9 is the lone hard-sided, free-standing 'Honeymoon Cabin' with a queen bed,
and books up fast.

An atmospheric wooden building hung with historical black-and-white photographs, this
year-round hotel is a place to lay your head and still feel like you're in the forest. Wide
porches have wooden rocking chairs, and homespun rooms contain rough-hewn wood fur-
niture and patchwork bedspreads. Cozy up to the big stone fireplace on chilly nights with a
board game.
