(D-G, case #1.) The female victim received a protracted (approximately 3 min) bite on the left
anticubital fossa while offering a mouse to a captive specimen. Plate 4.24D and E: 3 days after
the bite, note the extensive ecchymoses, blistering, and edema. Plate 4.24F: 6 days postbite;
Plate 4.24G: 16 days after the bite, note the resolving ecchymoses and blisters. The patient
reported several months of pain and stiffness in the affected extremity.
