The second-to-last command makes Wheezy the default release to use. The last command
will go out to the repositories and load information on all the new packages. It might take
awhile.
WARNING
Be sure to run the apt-get update ; otherwise, newly added repositories won't be seen.
Then, to install the Wheezy-backports version, run the following command:
bone# apt-get install git/wheezy-backports
bone# git --version
git version 1.9.1
Or, to install the Jessie version, run the following command:
bone# apt-get install git/jessie
git version 2.1.1
Note that you might need to install other packages first. If you get an error, see what is
missing and try installing it before trying again.
