The xM is a good choice if you want to use the BeagleBoard as a small workstation. You
can plug in a USB keyboard, mouse, and an HDMI display. Add a 5 V power supply, and
you are ready to run without the need of a host computer.
BeagleBone White
The original BeagleBone appeared in October 2011. Shown in
Figure 1-5
, it's white (thus
the name BeagleBone White), and it sells for $90 USD. It dropped back to 256 MB RAM
and 720 MHz clock, but it can fit in an Altoids tin.
