LEDs are a useful and easy way for your Bone to communicate with the outside world. But
be careful: LEDs operate on 1.2 to 1.4 V (depending on the color), and the Bone supplies
3.3 V. If you attach an LED directly to the Bone, the LED will pull too much current and
might damage the LED, or worse, the Bone. We put a resistor in series to limit the current.
220 Ω works well, but you can use a larger value to make the LED less bright. We
wouldn't recommend using a much smaller value.
