Finally, there's a nonterrestrial lodging option in this archipelago of 260-plus islands. This
cosy houseboat moored on the eastern side of Aberdeen is a floating B&B that offers
360-degree sea views, modern facilities and very comfy beds. The front deck room is reas-
onably sized so you don't need to squeeze. Upstairs, the suite room is an affordable luxury.
Owner Saral is not always around, but his friendly helper will look after you. Booking in
advance is a must. To get there, take bus 72A or 75 towards Aberdeen and alight at the ter-
minus. Water taxis (HK$7) will take you to the boat from the dock opposite the bus ter-
minus.

Ah, we almost don't want to tell you about this gem on the island! The 30-room T, perched
high in the serene neighbourhood of Pok Fu Lam, is entirely run by students of the local
hospitality training institute. The young trainees are attentive, cheerful and very eager to
hone their skills. Rooms are sparkling and spacious, and offer ocean or mountain views.
The food and beverage outlets, run by the famous culinary school in the complex, provide
excellent Chinese and Western meals.
