BOUTIQUE HOTEL
MINI HOTEL CAUSEWAY BAY
Causeway Bay, exit F1)
Exactly as the name suggests, this centrally located Causeway Bay property offers teeny-
weeny rooms, some as small as 100 sq ft. Cool architectural details - parquet floors, crown
molding, recessed lighting - and an uber-hip, art-filled lobby help make up for what it lacks
in size. Best for visitors more interested in being out on the town than relaxing in their
room.
HOTEL
COSMOPOLITAN HOTEL
from HK$900/1800; ; Causeway Bay, exit A)
The views here are unusual - Hong Kong Cemetery to the south and the Happy Valley
Racecourse to the east. If tombstones spook you out, request a room with frosted windows;
that said, rooms facing the racecourse are supposed to have better feng shui. All rooms are
sunny and bright and come with 11 pillow choices!
Cosmopolitan is actually closer to Queen's Rd East in Wan Chai than to Causeway Bay,
but there's a shuttle service to the latter. Look for online deals for as much as 35% off. Not
HOTEL
MINGLE PLACE BY THE PARK
HK$750-2000, per month HK$1500-24,000; ; Wan Chai, exit A3)
This five-storey hotel is housed in a restored 1960s tenement building with a small garden.
Teeny rooms are 'original 1960s style' which means bare bones with some quirky vintage
paraphernalia like retro alarm clocks and tea sets. Some rooms, including the cubicle-sized
'lite' rooms, have tiny balconies. No lift.
HOTEL
CHARTERHOUSE HOTEL
HK$700/1500; ; 23)
On the leafy side of Wan Chai, you're almost getting top-end accommodation for low-
midrange rates. Rooms are plush, clean and perfumed (allergy sufferers, beware), if not
brand-new, and staff are friendly and eager to please.
