Ferries leave from the pier every 20 minutes between the rush hours of 7.50am to 9.30am.
Private boats will also make the 10-minute trip to the island for ¥40.

The 18,000-sq-metre museum has some 7,000 well-curated but propaganda-ish exhibits on
the revolution, famous Cantonese revolutionaries, and the life of Sun Wan, Sun Yatsen's
daughter. Take bus 383 or 430 and disembark at Chángzhōujie, or take line 4 of the metro
and get off at Dàxuéchéng Běi, then take bus 383 to Chángzhōujie and walk for five
minutes.

PEASANT MOVEMENT INSTITUTE

The institute was established in 1924 by the Chinese Communist Party at the site of a
former Confucian temple. Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai both taught here, before the school
closed in 1926. You can see Mao Zedong's re-created personal quarters and even his bed.
MEMORIAL
MEMORIAL GARDEN TO THE MARTYRS

East of the Institute on Zhongshan Sanlu, the garden commemorates those killed on 13
December 1927 under the orders of Chiang Kaishek. The massacre occurred when a small
group of workers, led by the CCP, were gunned down by Kuomintang forces. Over 5000
lives were lost.

This massive museum has an extensive collection of Chinese art that ranges from the an-
cient to the contemporary. The emphasis is on calligraphic works and paintings, especially
those created in the Lĭngnán area. Rare Tibetan tapestries are displayed on the top floor.
